Music pioneer, contemporary & graffiti artist, drum ‘n’ bass icon, DJ, actor and producer; Goldie is a total original, a multi-talented complex shape shifter, who’s sold more than three million records worldwide whilst maintaining a lifelong passion for art. His client list for private commissions include Neneh Cherry, Noel Gallagher, Bjork, James Lavelle, Nellee Hooper, Kevin Spacey, The Sex Pistols, Snow Patrol, Pete Tong, Ed Sheeran and Jason Statham; a list as prolific as his creativity. 2007 saw the initial resurgence in Goldie’s artistic endeavours with a hugely successful solo exhibition at the Leonard Street Gallery in London titled ‘Love Over Gold’. The transition from street to canvas continued into 2008 with exhibitions in Berlin and Ibiza. That year also saw Goldie team up with International DJ Pete Tong to provide much of the artwork for Tong’s new ‘Wonderland’ club night at Eden nightclub in San Antonio, Ibiza. That partnership continued for three consecutive years. In April 2009, Goldie’s ‘Kids Are All Riot’ exhibition took place in Shoreditch, London. The stunning installation of art in the duplex Maverick showroom space attracted the likes of Ian Brown who commented on the beauty of his work. The BBC music documentary ‘Classic Goldie’ also exposed his artwork to millions, showing the multifaceted skills of Goldie the musician and artist.His 2010 show, ‘The Lock Up’, was held in a secret pop-up London location and attracted a huge celebrity crowd including Tracey Emin, Ian Brown, Danny Cipriani and Gemma Arterton.
His last body of work, Lostribes was a stunning collection of paintings on sustainable wood, Lostribes deftly combines visually seductive imagery with probing explorations of the fundamental human connection and artistic expression of the ancient tribes of Africa, Asia and America. These beautiful, earnest creations take us back to Goldie’s early artistic expressions; stark, unspoken feelings that resonate deep within yet impossible to verbalise. Each work is created with meraki – the purest of emotions – telling a story and arousing feelings as old as the journey of our souls.
